Mylia anomala is a species of moss of the order Jungermanniales . In German, the species is called Moor-Dünnkelchmoos .
features
The stems are several inches long and up to three millimeters wide. They have water-white rhizoids and form green to brown lawns. The flank leaves are oblong to broadly ovate, sometimes almost circular, the front edge is flat. In the middle of the leaf, the cells are 40 to 50 × 70 to 110 micrometers in size, their cell corners are thickened triangular to nodular. The cuticle is smooth. Each cell has six to ten or more grape-shaped or spherical or egg-shaped oil bodies .
Brood bodies are formed at the tip of lanceolate leaves .
Distribution and locations
The species is distributed circumboreally. In Germany it can be found in moor areas. It grows on bog soil and wet peat between sphagnum .
