The sewing machine museum on Pilgersteg is a technology museum in Dürnten and a Zurich memorial institution. The museum, which shows the history of the mechanical sewing machine , is located in the old coach house of the listed “Pilgersteg” factory in the Grundtal valley between the towns of Rüti and Wald .

Several hundred antique sewing machines, accessories and objects from related fields are on display. The foundation of the museum is the collection of Roni Schmied, which is supplemented by loans from third parties. The museum set up by Roni Schmied and his partner Tino Jaun was opened in spring 2013.

The exhibits reflect the entire historical and technical development from the end of the 18th century to modern times. Thematically, the exhibition is structured according to historical aspects. Different countries of origin and the different areas of application such as household, toys and industry are also taken into account.
