The Nécropole nationale du Silberloch - Hartmannswillerkopf (German: French war gravesite Silberloch - Hartmannswillerkopf ) is a French military cemetery at the foot of the Hartmannswillerkopf (Vieil Armand) for 1,640 French soldiers and 384 unknown soldiers who died in the First World War in the battle for the Hartmannswillerkopf.

The war cemetery northwest of Mulhouse and Cernay , named after the nearby Col du Silberloch , can be reached from Cernay via the D 431. It is located northwest of Wattwiller (and west of Hartmannswiller as the crow flies ) at the foot of the Hartmannswillerkopf. The ensemble consists of the above-ground war cemetery and the underground ossuary (crypte) for a further 12,000 unknown French soldiers. Nearby is the Historial franco-allemand du Hartmannswillerkopf .

The French war dead from the front section were buried in the Silberloch cemetery as early as 1915. From 1921 to 1926 he picked up the dead from scattered graves in the battlefield. The dead were reburied from the war cemeteries Wattwiller, Steinbach, Uffholtz, Willer, south of Thann, from la Doller. The military cemeteries of Moosch et von Guebwiller remained. The cemetery was declared a Nécropole nationale in 1921. In 1932 the cemetery was designed by Albert Lebrun.

In Cernay there is also the French military cemetery Nécropole nationale de Cernay with war dead from the First and Second World Wars.
