Néstor Carballo (born February 3, 1929 - September 22, 1981 ) was a Uruguayan football player .
Career
society
The 1.76 meter tall, "Martinica" known defensive player Carballo, who was also used in the position of central midfielder, began his career in 1949 at Danubio FC , for whom he also played the following year. He was then from 1951 to 1955 in the ranks of the Uruguayan first division club Nacional Montevideo . In 1952 and 1955, the Bolsos each won the Uruguayan championship in the Primera División . For 1956 he rejoined Danubio, but returned to Nacional for the 1957 and 1958 seasons. There he celebrated his third national championship in 1957. In 1959 he moved to league rivals Sud América , for which he was also active in the 1960 season. In 1961, at the end of his career, he worked for the La Luz Fútbol Club .
National team
Carballo was a member of the senior national team of Uruguay , for which he completed 18 international matches from his debut on March 1, 1953 to his last appearance on April 30, 1958. He did not score an international goal. He took part in the 1954 World Cup with Uruguay . In the course of the competition he was used in two games. Carballo was also part of the Uruguayan squad at the South American Championships in Peru in 1953 and in Chile in 1955 .
