Néstor Marconi

Néstor Eude Marconi (born June 15, 1942 in Álvarez / Santa Fe ) is an Argentine bandoneonist; Arranger and composer.

Marconi made his debut as a tango musician at the age of sixteen with an orchestra on Radio LT3 in Rosario, where he became a member of the Los cuatro señores del tango (with Clemente Vega , Francisco Tejedor and Nito Deniel ). Two years later he went on a concert tour with the orchestra of José Basso and then went to Buenos Aires with his family.

He performed there with Osvaldo Manzi and Lito Scarso and wrote the music for a ballet by Juan Carlos Copes , with whom he toured Central America. In 1970 he became a member of Enrique Mario Francini's sextet and founded the Vanguatrío with Héctor Console and Horacio Valente . In Caño 14 he performed with the orchestras of Héctor Stamponi , José Basso and Atilio Stampone with the accompaniment orchestra of Roberto Goyeneche .

In 1973 he went on a concert tour through Japan with the orchestra of Enrique Francini and Armando Pontier . In 1979 he performed in Sweden with his own quartet with Rubén Ruiz , Oscar Palermo and Fernando Romano . In the 1980s he was a musician at Café Homero , where he performed with musicians such as the pianists Osvaldo Tarantino and Orlando Trípodi , the bassist Angel Ridolfi and the singers Goyeneche and Rubén Juárez . In 1988 he founded an octet to which u. a. Orlando Trípodi, Reynaldo Nichele , Daniel Binelli , Mauricio Marcelli as well as the singers Nelly Vázquez and Roberto Goyeneche belonged.

As a sideman he took part in some recordings of Astor Piazzolla , whose music he also recorded in cross-over recordings with Gidon Kremer , Daniel Barenboim , Yo-Yo Ma and Charles Dutoit . With Marcelo Álvarez he recorded an album with songs by Carlos Gardel . He leads his own tango trio with the pianist Leonardo Marconi and the bassist Oscar Giunto . He is also a member of Horacio Salgan's Nuevo Quinteto Real . He composed two suites for string orchestra, which were performed by the Orquesta de Cámara de Rosario under the direction of his former teacher Luis Milici .
