Nötön-Åråsviken

Nötön-Åråsviken is a Swedish nature reserve in the northern part of Lake Vänern in the provinces of Värmlands län and Västra Götalands län .

The 3000 hectare nature reserve includes a large number of smaller islands. The islands are former terminal moraines from the last Ice Age, which stretch in an east-west direction. The islands, which are about 100 to 250 meters apart, are only up to forty meters wide, but several kilometers long and only rise slightly above the surface of the water. Between the islands there are sometimes extensive reed areas. Therefore, many different birds live in this nature reserve, u. a.
