Season course

The title fight was practically decided before the last round. Miskolci SSC already had 6 board points ahead of the last round, and even the clear 4½: 7½ defeat against runner-up Honvéd Budapest no longer endangered winning the title. The decision in the relegation battle, however, was only made in the final round, in which DOZSO SE Pécs and Mat (t) ador SC lost to their direct competitors Hajdúböszörményi Sakkozók Egyesülete and Sárospataki Elektromos Sport Egyesület . Two board points were deducted from the Mat (t) ador SC, but this had no effect on the final placement.
