Mónika Grábics , full name Mónika Grábics Tolnainé ; (Born August 31, 1976 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian chess master .

Life

She is married to the Hungarian grandmaster Tibor Tolnai and has one son. In 2003 Grábics received the title of Women's Chess Grandmaster (WGM).

Grábics won or occupied top places in several tournaments: 1st place at the U18 European Championship (girls) (1994), 1st place at the Hungarian Championship (women) (1996), 2nd place at the Hotel-Hotel-Írottkő tournament (2000), 2nd place at the 35th women’s tournament in Belgrade (2002), 1st place at the Mediterranean Flower women’s tournament (2004) and 1st place at a women’s tournament in Krk (2004).

With her best Elo rating of 2371 in October 2000, Grábics finished 61st – 62nd. 1st place in the FIDE world rankings for women and fourth place in the Hungarian women's rankings. Grábics has not played a rated game since the 2011/12 Hungarian team championship and is therefore listed as inactive.

National team

Grábics took part with Hungary in the women's chess Olympiads in 1998 and 2000 and in the women's team championships in 1992, 1997 and 1999, and she also played in the open class of the Mitropa Cup in 1998 .

Mónika Grábics played for Honvéd Budapest in the 1990s and took part in the 1999 European Club Cup with a women's team from the club . This lost all three competitions in the preliminary round, whereby Grábics managed the only winning game of the team with a victory against the Macedonian grandmaster Toni Najdoski . In the highest Hungarian league, the NB I. Szabó László csoport , Grábics played until 2004 at Miskolci SSC , with which they won the team championship in 2000 and 2001 , in the 2005/06 season at Láng Vasas Sportkör .
