NFL Head Coach is an American football sports simulation for PCs and game consoles . It was developed by the EA Tiburon company and published by EA Sports in 2006. The game allows the player to take the position of head coach and lead a team. The cover featured the then coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers , Bill Cowher .

Action and gameplay

The game begins the week after Super Bowl XL , in which the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Seattle Seahawks 21:10. The player takes on the role of the Steelers' former offensive / defensive coordinator and is now ready to take over his own team. First, the player conducts a job interview, which depends on which and how many job offers the player receives. The player selects one of these offers. The player is now the head coach and general manager of the selected team. On the first day, the player meets the team owner, the other coaches and the players on his team. The player now controls his team through daily activities, which are dependent on the time in the season. He fires and hires coaches, conducts contract negotiations, scouts , fires, drafts players and plans games and training sessions. During a game the player can change the strategy and motivate the players. The career ends when the player retires, for which there is no fixed age.

reception

GameSpot , on the other hand, praised the graphics, but criticized the lack of a multiplayer mode. GameSpot also gave it a rating of 7.2 / 10. CNET awarded 3.5 out of 5 stars, criticizing that the influence during a game was too small and that positive motivation could motivate a player negatively.
