The two accumulator - rail tractors of the NSB Ska 207 series were used by Norges Statsbaner ( German  Norwegian State Railways ) in Norway from 1932 . The locomotives were built in the narrow gauge - 750 mm gauge . They were used for smaller transport tasks and for maneuvering.

history

The Norsk Elektrisk & Brown Boveri (NEBB) presented the electrical part and forth skabo jernbanevognfabrikk in Oslo was responsible for the mechanical part. The superstructure consists of a wooden cab with a porch on each side that houses the electrical equipment.

The first application area of the two locomotives was the construction sites of the Sørlandsbane . They were mainly used in the construction of the 9,065 meter long Kvinesheitunnel , which was the longest railway tunnel in Norway until 1973. This tunnel was put into operation in 1944. During construction, a narrow-gauge track was installed in the tunnel between the standard gauge track. In the area of the work site there were sidings in order to be able to provide another empty set of waste due to the long travel times before departure of the full set.

The locomotives were converted to standard gauge in 1946 , the conversion was carried out by Skabo . Both were painted red, for a short time around 1970 Ska 207 3 had a green paint.

Use and whereabouts

After delivery, the two machines were stationed in Flåm for a large part of their active time . In 1980 the Ska 207 4 locomotive was retired and scrapped. Ska 207 3 was preserved as a museum locomotive, again in red paint. It is in a hall of the Flåmbane Museum at the train station in Flåm.
