Nabha ( Panjabi ਨਾਭਾ ) is a city ( Municipal Council ) in the Indian state of Punjab . It is located in the Patiala district in Tehsil Nabha , 20 km west of the district capital Patiala . The city is on the Patiala – Barnala railway line . In the 2011 census, the population was just under 68,000. Ten years earlier it was 62,000. Nabha was the capital of the former princely state of Nabha .
