Nabi G'aniyev

Nabi Gʻaniyev (born September 15, 1904 in Tashkent , † October 29, 1953 ) was an Uzbek-Soviet film director who was one of the most important people for the emergence of the Uzbek film tradition. From 1921 to 1924 he studied at the state artistic and technical workshops in Moscow . Then he worked at Uzbek Film in Tashkent. His films played an important role in the development of Uzbek cinema. In 2001 he was awarded the Order for Outstanding Service ( Uzbek Buyuk xizmatlari uchun ) posthumously. His great-granddaughter Rayhon is a famous singer.
