Uzbek movie

Uzbekfilm ( Russian Узбекфильм ; Uzbek Oʻzbekfilm / Ўзбекфилм) is the oldest Uzbek film studio. It was founded in Tashkent in 1925 under the name Sharq yulduzi (Uzbek for "Star of the East") and has had its current name since 1936. After the beginning of the German-Soviet war , the studio was renamed to "Filmstudio Tashkent", which was renamed in Uzbek film took place in 1958. During the time of the Soviet Union, the studio was one of the largest and most successful state film studios.

Numerous well-known filmmakers from all over the Soviet Union acted in Uzbekfilm-productions, including about Alexander Fitz , Sakir Muchamedschanow , Yakov Protasanow , Schuchrat Abbassow , Bachtijor Ichtijarow , Kamil Jarmatow , Ergash Karimov , Ali Hamroyev , Latif Faisijew , Andrei Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky or Ato Muchamedschanow .

Over 400 feature films and around 100 cartoons have been produced by Uzbekfilm. The studio still exists today. Numerous Uzbek films have also been shown in East German cinemas.
