Sakir Muchamedzhanov

Sakir Muchamedschanowitsch Muchamedschanow ( Russian Закир Мухамеджанович Мухамеджанов ; Uzbek Zikir Muhammadjonov ; born January 1, 1921 in Tashkent ; † August 23, 2012 ibid) was a Soviet actor from the Uzbek SSR .

Life

Muchamedschanow began his acting career in 1938 at the Hamza National Theater in Tashkent, where he played in plays by Hamza , Furkat , Shatrow and Sofronov and embodied the historical figures Temur Malik , Alischer Nawoij , Mirza Ulugbek , Abu Raihan Biruni and Lenin . In 1949 Muchamedschanow graduated from the Tashkent Theater Institute AN Ostrowski. His more than one hundred roles in seventy years at the theater also included world literary classics such as Schiller's Kabale und Liebe , in which he played Ferdinand, and Shakespeare dramas.

In 1951 Muchamedschanow became a member of the CPSU . In 1956 he made his film debut. He gained fame through his roles in Uzbek film productions directed by Latif Faisijew , which were also shown in East German cinemas, especially in the 1980s. One of his most important roles was the title role in the film General Rakhimov (1968). In 1980 he played Ali Baba and the 40 robbers Ali Baba's father in the Soviet-Indian co-production .

Awards

Muchamedschanow was awarded in 1968 at the All Union Film Festival in Tallinn for his leading role in the film General Rachimow . He was awarded the Order of the Red Labor Banner twice (1970 and 1975). He was awarded the State Prize of the USSR (1977) and the State Prize of the Uzbek SSR (1989) for his theater work .

In addition, he was honored in 1956 as “Honored Artist of the Uzbek SSR” and in 1964 as “People's Artist of the Uzbek SSR”. In 1977 he received the title of People's Artist of the USSR . Even after the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan he received awards, for example in 1998 as the “Hero of Uzbekistan”.
