Domenico Sanguigni

Domenico Sanguigni (born June 27, 1809 in Terracina , † November 20, 1882 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal .

Life

Sanguigni became Doctor iuris utriusque (both rights doctor) PhD . He was first an auditor of the papal nunciature in the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies , later apostolic nuncio in Portugal and then Internuncio in Brazil . On June 15, 1874, he was named titular archbishop of Tarsus . He was ordained bishop on August 23, 1874 in the church of Sant'Andrea al Quirinale in Rome by Cardinal Alessandro Franchi ; Co- consecrators were Curia Archbishop Pietro Giannelli and Bishop Alessandro Sanminiatelli Zabarella , almsmen to His Holiness . In the consistory of September 19, 1879 Pope Leo XIII appointed. him cardinal priest and awarded him on February 27, 1880 the titular church of Santa Pudenziana .

He died in Rome on the morning of November 20, 1882 and was buried in the Roman cemetery of Campo Verano .
