Nada Mamula (born January 9, 1927 in Belgrade ; † October 11, 2001 there ) was a Yugoslav singer.

life and work

Born as Nada Vukičević, the singer began singing Serbian folk songs and Sevdalinkas as a child . Her career began in 1946 when she sang on Radio Beograd with other musicians. Her interpretation of the old Bosnian folk song Moj dilbere is well known .

A short time later she married the railway worker Nikola Mamula. The couple could not have children.

She applied as a solo singer and promptly became a star because of her deep voice. In the early 1990s she withdrew into private life and no longer gave interviews.
