Nagelfluh outcrop (Günzegg)

The Nagelfluh outcrop near Günzegg , a district of the municipality of Böhen in the Unterallgäu district ( Bavaria ), is a registered geotope with the number 778A003. The outcrop at an altitude of 796  m above sea level. NN is about 2.7 km east of the community, along the road to Günzegg. It is located in the natural space of the Iller-Lech gravel plates, in the geological spatial unit of the Iller- Lech region. The geotope, artificially created by a gravel pit , is 200 meters long, 5 meters wide and 8 meters high and covers an area of ​​1000  square meters . In the very heavily ingrown geotope , penetration gravel that has solidified to Nagelfluh , as well as gravel moraine of the Mindelglacial is exposed . The unprotected geotope is classified as geoscientifically significant and is rarely found in the region.
