Naked News is a Canadian news channel whose broadcast concept is that all newscasters , interviewers and presenters appear naked or only partially clothed . The station is based on the pay TV concept and can only be accessed against payment. The station's motto is “The Program with Nothing to Hide”; Naked News sees itself as "Internet CNN for nudists ".
history
Naked News was founded in June 2000 by Fernando Pereira and Kirby Stasyna and was initially only available as a live stream on its own website. The station started with just one host, Victoria Sinclair , who is currently still part of the station. In the meantime, Naked News has grown to include ten speakers, with changing guest moderators. The show quickly became an internet phenomenon, with viewers reaching up to 6 million per month. In the early years, the broadcast content was completely free and sponsored by advertising. With the collapse of the New Economy and the associated decline in Internet advertising, the content was only partially chargeable in 2002 and then in full in 2004. A non-nude version of the program was added to the website as a teaser in 2005 . The only free reception is currently available in the UK on the Playboy One cable channel, which broadcasts Naked News content Monday through Thursday morning programming.
In 2001 men were accepted into the hitherto purely female staff, with those broadcasting areas primarily aimed at a female audience.
A Japanese version of the station went on air in 2006 as a collaborative project with Sunrise Corporation , followed by an Italian version in March 2008.

Much of the staff is from the Toronto area and was recruited through newspaper advertisements. Initially, only amateurs worked for the station, later, as the station's popularity grew, well-known presenters were also poached from other stations. At the moment the line-up is all female.
Naked News currently has the following presenters: Eila Adams, Laura Desiree, Whitney St. John, Madison Banes, Betsy Swoon, Alana Blaire, Tia Larose, Shannon Blake, Marina Valmont and Frankie Kennedy.

Canadian legislation, which is relatively liberal in relation to the United States when it comes to public nudity, made it possible for the naked reporters to conduct interviews on the street. The station quickly achieved a high level of public awareness that soon went far beyond the audience, and a number of moderators also became famous. The station's presenters have been invited to numerous talk shows and features from other stations such as Today (NBC) , CBS Sunday Morning, The View, Sally Jessy Raphaël , appearances on Howard Stern and reports in numerous magazines followed.
Transmission range
Naked News can be received worldwide via the Internet , via the British Sky Broadcasting satellite network and as a broadcast on the local Canadian television station CityTV Toronto via terrestrial reception. Naked News can be received via cable in 35 million households in North America.
Similar broadcasts
With the program The Daily Flesh , Playboy TV brought out a similar format that built on the success of Naked News. An adaptation was made in 2006 with Les Nuz on the French cable broadcaster Comédie! sent.
