The Namibian passport ( English Namibian Passport ) is the official photo ID for Namibian citizens to travel abroad. This is from the Namibian Ministry of Interior to all citizens of Namibia issued. The passport is the only identity document that confirms citizenship.

The passport meets the international requirements for biometrics . In contrast to the passports of most other countries, the identity card is located at the end of the document, since 2017 at the beginning of the passport. Since 2017, passports have also always had 48 pages.

Border pass

At the beginning of 2020, the use of a border pass was agreed with Botswana for residents of the Namibian island of Impalila and the Kasika villages. It replaces a normal passport for the residents there. The background is that they can only travel to Namibia via Botswana ( Kasane ).
