geography

Zambia lies on the north bank of the Zambezi , and Botswana on the south bank . The state borders follow the valley path of the northern and southern arm of the river. The nearby, much smaller river island Kakumba Island , 100 meters further southeast, is Namibia's easternmost land area. The border triangle Zambia-Namibia-Botswana in the Zambezi lies 345 meters northeast of Namibia's easternmost land point . 45 meters further east in the river is the border triangle Zambia- Zimbabwe- Botswana. According to many sources, this area is also the only real quadrangle on earth.
