Song Nan ( Chinese 宋 楠 , Pinyin Sòng Nán , born August 9, 1990 in Qiqihar , Heilongjiang Province ) is a former Chinese figure skater who started in a single run .
Career
Song started figure skating at the age of six. In 2009 he became the first Chinese champion. In 2010 he won the silver medal at the Junior World Championships in The Hague behind Yuzuru Hanyū and in front of Artur Gatschinski . In the same year he made his debut at the Four Continents Championships , where he finished sixth. In 2011, Song's debut at world championships followed , which he finished with 22nd place.
In September 2011, Song was Chinese champion for the second time and surprisingly won a medal in both of his Grand Prix appearances , first bronze at the Cup of China and then silver at the Eric Bompard Trophy . Song defeated, among others, the World Cup third Gatschinski and the World Cup fourth Michal Březina and increased his personal best overall points to 226.75 points. At the 2012 World Cup , Song took 14th place. In the freestyle he showed a clean four-way-triple- toe- loop combination, but fell on his single four-way toe-loop.
In 2014, Song Nan won his only medal at a major international championship with bronze at the Four Continents Championships in Taipei. Two years later he ended his career after a disappointing 12th place in that tournament.
