Nantharat , also written Nan Tharat , (full throne name Somdet Brhat Chao Phya Nanda Raja Sri Sadhana Kanayudha ; * in the 17th century, † 1698 in Luang Phrabang ) was a usurper from 1695 until his execution, king of the Laotian kingdom of Lan Xang .

Nantharat was the son of Chao Pu, a cousin of King Sulinyavongsa . Before his forcible ousting of King Tian Thala (ruled 1690 to 1695), he was governor of Nakhon / Lakhon or Sīkhottabong (now Nakhon Phanom ). During his reign, the controversy over the throne in Lan Xang continued, which eventually led to Nan Tharat being deposed and executed in 1698. In his place, Sai Ong Hue ruled, who in 1706 divided the kingdom of Lan Xang into three parts and until 1730 as Sai Setthathirat II himself ruled the kingdom of Vientiane .
