Tian Thala , also called Phagna Muong Chan or Phrayā Meuang Chan , (full throne name Somdet Brhat Chao Davaniasena Chandralaya Raja Sri Sadhana Kanayudha ; * in the 17th century; † 1696 in Luang Prabang ) was king of the Laotian kingdom of Lan for six months in 1694 or 1695 Xang .

Tian Thala came from a noble family with no ties to the royal family of Lan Xang. He rose first in the administration and was appointed by King Sulinyavongsa (r. 1638 to 1694) with the title Phya Mueang Chandra (or Phrayā Meuang Chan ) as the most important minister. After his death, Tian Thala seized the throne and tried to strengthen his position in 1694 by marrying the youngest princess, Chaofa Nying Suman Kumari or Sumangala. However, she rejected him and instead fled south, where she is considered the founder of the Champasak kingdom .

Tian Thala was unpopular with the people and the nobility never recognized their claims to the throne. He was therefore replaced after six months in power by the governor of Nakhon (Phanom) , Nantharat . According to other sources, his successor was Prince Ong Lo , the older son of Princess Sumangala, who was only succeeded by Nantharat in 1698. In 1696 Tian Thala committed suicide in Luang Prabang.
