Flowing lakes Nanika Lake , Kidprice Lake

The Nanika River is an approximately 70 km long tributary of Morice Lake in the northwest of the Canadian province of British Columbia .

The Nanika River has its source in the Kitimat Ranges south of Harpsichord Peak at an altitude of 1100  m . It flows mainly in an easterly direction through the mountains. In the upper reaches several glacier-fed streams flow to it. After about 7 km the Nanika River flows into the western end of the almost 24 km long Nanika Lake . The river leaves the lake at its eastern end and after 8 km reaches the south-western end of Kidprice Lake . The Nanika River leaves this on its north bank. The 18 m high Nanika Falls are located at the outflow from Kidprice Lake . The Nanika River then flows another 25 km north before it finally reaches Morice Lake. This is drained by the Morice River .

The protected areas Nenikëkh / Nanika-Kidprice Provincial Park and Morice Lake Provincial Park lie on the river .

The catchment area of the Nanika River covers approximately 880 km². The mean discharge at the outflow from Kidprice Lake is 29 m³ / s. In the months of May to July, the Nanika River carries the largest amounts of water.
