Naoko Ogigami ( Japanese 荻 上 直 子 , Ogigami Naoko ; born February 15, 1972 in Chiba Prefecture , Japan ) is a Japanese film director and screenwriter.

After studying in her hometown of Chiba, she went to the USA in 1994 to study film at the University of Southern California . She worked as an assistant director for commercials and videos. She made her first short film in Los Angeles in 1999 and returned to Japan in 2000. In 2004 she presented her first feature film with Barber Yoshino , which was shown at the 2004 Berlinale as part of the Children's Film Festival. In 2006 she presented her film Kamome shokudō , which was the first Japanese film to be shot entirely in Finland. In 2008 her film Megane was shown in the competition of the Sundance Film Festival and was invited to the Berlinale 2008 in the Panorama section.
