Bread bag

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

German military bread bag, introduced in the Reichswehr as early as 1931 and delivered in countless colors from the Second World War

The haversack is a piece of military equipment. It is a bag that is used to store provisions , tobacco , field post and other items. It is worn on the belt .

The D-rings and leather loops on the bag are used to attach cookware and canteens . A shoulder strap can also be attached to it.

The "bread bag 31" introduced by the Reichswehr in 1931 was later adapted to equip the Wehrmacht , the Federal Border Guard , the riot police (until the end of the 1970s) and the GDR's National People's Army .

The Bundeswehr called their equipment bag small compared to the storm baggage issued in the early days, the combat bag small (worn on the belt on the right) and the combat bag that was to be carried on the back before the introduction of the hunter backpack, large. The cookware and stove should be packed in the small combat bag, but it was mostly used to store command equipment and other utensils carried by the soldiers.
