A bag is a hollow, thin-walled, easily deformable object that is suitable for holding other objects. It has a mostly closable opening through which it can be filled and emptied.

Trivia

When someone is shaken, they are shaken (literally or figuratively) like a riddle bag . (See also sieving (classification method) ).

In the vulgar language , the scrotum is called with a bag: in Austrian spelling it is more like Beitl , Viennese: Beidl . As a (tongue-in-cheek) " swear word ", Beitl is used for machos .

As part of a life cycle analysis , British scientists compared the environmental balance of various materials used for bags in 2011. The following multiples were determined for the repeated use compared to the single use of conventional HDPE bags in order to show a lower potential for global warming .
- Paper bags should be used at least three times
- LDPE bags should be used at least four times
- Polypropylene bags should be at least eleven times and
- Nonwoven and cotton bags can be reused at least 131 times.
