The Napier Bentley is a classic car - racing cars , which as a single piece in 1968 by David Llewellyn was built. The car was built on a Sunbeam - chassis , but after a serious accident, he was on the chassis of an 8-liter Bentley rebuilt by 1929th It has a 24 liter Napier Sea Lion engine. This W-shaped 12 cylinder marine engine is derived from a Napier Lion aircraft engine (the same one used in the silver Napier Railton , which it looks very similar to). The engine develops around 550 bhp (410 kW). The car appears regularly in historic races, mostly in the UK , but has also been seen at European events outside the UK.

The W12 engine has three rows with four very thick, short exhaust pipes, one row of which protrudes directly from the vehicle on the left-hand side. The engine sounds are compared with those of a biplane from the First World War , the sounds of exploding cluster munitions or those of a mortar . Because of the immense torque of the engine (approx. 1034 Nm) you can produce smoke clouds with the rear tires at every start in a burn-out , while the exhaust pipes emit sparks, flames and smoke.

The car has been owned by Chris Williams since 1999, who later built another one-off, the Packard-Bentley .
