Coordinates: 32 ° 14 ' S , 148 ° 10' O Narromine Shire is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales . The area is 5,261.5 km² and has about 6,400 inhabitants.
Narromine is located in the center of the state about 440 km northwest of the metropolis of Sydney . The area comprises 23 hamlets and towns: Buddah, Bulgandramine, Burringeel, Burroway, Ceres, Fairview, Farrendale, Gin Gin, Haberworth, Mungeribar, Mungerie, Narromine, Oaks Bridge, Timbrebongie, Tomingley West, Trangie, Trangie Research Station, Tyrie, Webbs Siding, Wyanga and parts of Bundemar, Dandaloo and Tomingley. The Shire Council is located in the town of Narromine in the east of the LGA, where about 3,500 people live.

The Narromine Shire Council has nine members who are elected by LGA residents. Narromine is not divided into districts. The mayor of the council is also recruited from among the councilors.
