Nasir Ahmad (hockey player)

Nasir Ahmad (born May 15, 1932 ) is a retired Pakistani hockey player and 1960 Olympic champion.

The striker first appeared at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956. He won the silver medal with the Pakistani national team after losing 1-0 to India in the final. The silver medal was the first ever medal win for Pakistan at the Olympics.

Four years later at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome , Nasir Ahmad reached the final again with Pakistan. This time the Pakistani team won 1-0, with Nasir Ahmad scoring the only goal in the final in the 12th minute. After six Olympic victories, this was the first defeat for the Indians, for Pakistan it was the first Olympic gold medal.
