Natalia Petrovna Ossipova
Natalja Petrovna Ossipowa ( Russian: Наталья Петровна Осипова ; born May 18, 1986 in Moscow ) is a Russian ballet dancer .
Career
Ossipova was trained by her father from an early age. Originally, Ossipova aimed for a career in rhythmic gymnastics , but then turned to classical ballet.
From 1996 to 2004 Ossipowa was trained at the Moscow Choreographic Institute , her teachers included Marina Kotowa and Marina Leonowa. Part of her training was shown in the documentary Bolshoi Drill .
After graduating, Ossipova joined the ballet company of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow as a dancer in the corps de ballet . Long before she was officially appointed soloist, she excelled in the leading roles of the great ballet classics Don Quichotte (as Kitri) and La Bayadère (as Gamzatti). She is particularly known for her high jumps and the vitality of her interpretations.
Since 2009 she has also appeared as a guest dancer at the American Ballet Theater . In 2012 she switched to the Michailowsky Ballet in St. Petersburg as a principal dancer . At the end of May 2013 she announced that she would join the Royal Ballet in London as Principal Dancer and at the same time leave the Michailowsky.

- January 2008: UK National Dance Awards 2007 (Richard Sherrington Award for Best Dancer)
- April 2009: Golden Mask (Special Jury Prize for La Sylphide with Wjatcheslaw Lopatin)
- June 2009: Prix Benois de la Danse ("Ballerina of the Year")
