Nathalie Bredella

Nathalie Bredella is a German architectural historian. She is visiting professor for architectural history and architectural theory at the Institute for the History and Theory of Design (IGTG) at the University of the Arts Berlin (UdK). Her main focus in teaching and research on the history and theory of architecture is urban research, media theory, digitality and gender.

Life

Bredella studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin and the Cooper Union New York. In 2008 Bredella received her doctorate with Architectures of Spectation, an architectural theoretical research project on film and architecture. In 2010/2011 she was a Research Fellow at the International College for Cultural Technology Research and Media Philosophy (IKKM) at the Bauhaus University Weimar . In 2015/2016 Bredella was a member of the DFG Research Group on Media Cultures of Computer Simulation (MECS) at Leuphana University Lüneburg . At the same time she held a position as a lecturer and researcher on the subject of architecture and new media at the UdK Berlin at the IGTG, which was funded by the DFG . Bredella has been visiting professor for architectural history with a focus on media and gender theory since 2016.
