Nathalie Tocci (born March 7, 1977 in Rome ) is an Italian political scientist .

Career

Tocci began her studies in political science at the University College of the University of Oxford . She graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) with a Masters in 1999 . Her thesis dealt with the economic policy of Turkey. Later she did her doctorate at the LSE on the Cyprus conflict, in particular the consequences of the planned accession of the Republic of Cyprus to the European Union on the entire conflict in the period from 1988 to 2002. In the meantime, Tocci worked at the Robert Schuman Center for Applied Studies at the European University Institute in Brussels and at the Transatlantic Academy in Washington . From 2006 she headed the European Foreign Policy Department at the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI) in Rome. She has been the director of the Istituto Affari Internazionali since 2017.
