Nathan Shamuyarira
Nathan Marwirakuwa Shamuyarira (born September 29, 1928 , † June 4, 2014 in Harare ) was a Zimbabwean politician who was foreign minister of his home country, among other things .
Life
Nathan Marwirakuwa Shamuyarira became Minister for Information and Tourism in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Robert Mugabe in 1980 and held this ministerial office until 1982. He then served as Minister for Information, Post and Telecommunications from 1982 to 1988. In the course of a cabinet reshuffle, he succeeded Witness Mangwende as Foreign Minister in 1988 until he was replaced by Stan Mudenge in 1995. He then held the post of Minister for Public Service, Labor and Social Welfare from 1995 to 1996, before his last position served as Minister of Industry and Trade in President Mugabe's cabinet between 1996 and 2000.
In 2004 Shamuyarira became Secretary for Information and Public Relations of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU-PF).
