The National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH) is the world's oldest and largest hypnotists association based in Merrimack , New Hampshire , USA . The association sees it as its task to promote and protect the art, science and philosophy of hypnosis .

history

The association was founded in 1950/1951 by a group of hypnotists around Rexford L. North. Within a short period of time, local chapters were formed in many major cities in the USA and Canada. As of 2015, the association claims to have over 17,000 members as well as regional and local groups in 83 countries.

The association has organized annual specialist symposiums with workshops and specialist seminars since 1987. The NGH publishes the association journals The Journal of Hypnotism (since 1987) and Hypnogram (since 1950), in which the members can also publish themselves.

Members

In addition to regular membership, certified memberships are possible. The certified membership as a Certified Hypnotist or Consulting Hypnotist requires a qualified hypnosis training of at least 100 hours. Members with additional qualifications and a healing permit ( doctor , alternative practitioner ) are certified as certified hypnotherapists .

In Germany and Switzerland there are currently a total of 20 licensed NGH trainers (Certified Instructors) who are certified in the USA and who offer hypnosis training courses that are certified within the framework of the NGH guidelines.

The association is represented with chapters in Germany in Borgholzhausen and Donaueschingen .

Switzerland

In Volketswil , the NGH is represented with the chapter 'Greater Zurich'.
