National School of Drama
The National School of Drama (short: NSD) ( Hindi राष्ट्रीय नाट्य विद्यालय ) is a state theater school in New Delhi (India).
It was founded in 1959 as a department of the Sangeet Natak Akademi , but became an independent organization in 1975 and is financially supported by the State Ministry of Culture. Part of the training is that every single student is allowed to write their own play, which is then performed publicly on the stage. This theater not only staged typical Indian dramas, but also presented modern Asian and Western plays.
