Sangeet Natak Akademi

Sangeet Natak Akademi ( Hindi : संगीत नाटक अकादेमी , sangīta nāṭaka akādemī ) is the national Indian academy for music, dance and drama. It was established by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of India on May 31, 1952. The Academy's first president, PV Rajamannar , was instituted in office by Rajendra Prasad , India's first president, on January 28, 1953. Membership in the academy and its prices are associated with a high reputation.

Functions

The academy aims to preserve India's cultural heritage. To this end, she founded institutions and carried out projects. Special mention should be made here:

Sangeet Natak Akademi Award

The Academy's prize is considered the highest national recognition and is bestowed on performing artists by the President of India . The prize consists of a sum of Rs. 50,000 / -, a scarf and a Tamrapatra plaque . The winners of Hindustan music include Zakir Hussain , Shobha GurtuAli Akbar Khan or Ravi Shankar .

Sangeet Natak Akademi Fellowship

Since 1954, the Academy has also honored people as Fellows with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Ratna through the election of academy members .
