The National Polytechnic Research University of Perm ( Russian Пермский Национальный Исследовательский Политехнический Университет Permskii Nazionalny Issledowatelski Politechnitscheski Uniwersitet , English Perm National Research Polytechnic University ) is a university in Perm , Russia . It is the largest university in the western Urals .
history
In 1953 a mining institute was founded. In 1960 it was renamed the Polytechnic Institute. In 1993 the university was given the form of a State Technical University (PSTU). In 2011, it received the title of National Research University of Russia and was renamed the National Polytechnic Research University of Perm. About 27,000 students study at the university. By 2007 the PSU had over 60,000 graduates. The duration of the course is 10 semesters and around 50 exams have to be taken. The National Polytechnic Research University of Perm is involved in the Tempus funding program of the EU .
