The Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is an existing since 1991 college with locations in Bernburg (Saale) , Dessau and Köthen (Anhalt) .
history
The ceremonial opening of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences took place in March 1992 in the hall of mirrors of Köthen Castle . At that time, the company had already been running for six months, namely since October 1, 1991. In the 19th century there was the Higher Technical Institute in Koethen, where engineers studied electrical engineering , mechanical engineering, chemistry , metallurgy, brickwork and ceramics for three years were trained. The former Technical University of Koethen existed parallel to the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences until September 1993. The students of the Technical University were able to complete their studies, especially since the Technical University of Koethen was a branch of the University of Magdeburg until 1993 .
Agricultural training began in Bernburg as early as 1880 with the establishment of the Anhalt Research Station in Bernburg by Hermann Hellriegel . The Bernburg Institute for Plant Breeding was founded in 1947, the Bernburg University of Agriculture was founded in 1961, the profile was changed to become the University of Agriculture and Food Industry in 1967 and, from 1981, the four-year direct study program was set up in the fields of agricultural economics, business administration and economics. On October 1, 1991, the Thomas Müntzer Agricultural University became part of the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.
Locations
