Pharmaceutical technology
Pharma Systems is a course of study that deals with the manufacture of medicines employed. All stages of production are included , from the starting materials to the intermediate products to the end product of a dosage form . The quality , the chemical / physical analysis , packaging , validation and qualification , as well as the legal framework of medicines are considered.
Education
The study of pharmaceutical engineering is offered at the following German universities:
- Environmental campus Birkenfeld of the Trier University of Applied Sciences Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Technology (Bachelor of Sciences, also as a dual course with integrated IHK training)
- University of Applied Sciences Ostwestfalen-Lippe with locations in Lemgo and Detmold
- Technische Fachhochschule Berlin course pharmaceutical and chemical engineering (Bachelor and Master)
- Anhalt University of Applied Sciences with locations in Dessau , Köthen and Bernburg (Bachelor and Master)
- Albstadt-Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences
- German-Jordanian University - The German project office is affiliated with the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences
- University of Applied Sciences Kaiserslautern with a degree in applied pharmacy
Previous diploma courses with an engineering degree were partly reclassified as part of the Bologna process into Bachelor and Master courses with a shorter study duration.

The pharmaceutical technology course was first offered in the winter semester of 1987/88 at the Sigmaringen University of Applied Sciences (today: Albstadt-Sigmaringen University).
