National League A 2015/16

The National League A 2016/17 ( French League Nationale A ) was the 83rd season of the top division in men's basketball. 11 teams took part in the championship.

Swiss champion was the BBC Monthey , which was able to secure its second title after 2005. He was able to prevail in the Playoffinale against the Lions de Gèneve in six games.

mode

In the first phase, all eleven teams play a first and second leg against each other in a preliminary round in 20 games. Then the league is divided into two groups for an intermediate round, one group for the first six teams and one group for the five other clubs. In both cases there is only one game, taking the points from the qualifying round with you. Then the playoffs are played and qualify for the six participants in the first group and the two best clubs in the intermediate round of the sixth to eleventh place. For the other league players the season is now over, there is no direct relegation this season.

The playoffs are played in the quarter and semi-finals in a best-of-five series, the final is decided in a best-of-seven .
