The BBC (Basketball Club) Monthey-Chablais is a Swiss basketball club from Monthey .
history
In 1966 the club was founded under the name BBC Monthey. In 1996, 2005 and 2007 the men's team won the Swiss championship.
After riots in the 2017 cup final, which resulted in fines and fines for several players, coaches and officials in Monthey, administrative and disciplinary proceedings were initiated by the Swiss Basketball Association in April 2017. In July 2017, President Christophe Grau was banned from exercising his duties for 120 days due to the incident and was fined 2,000 francs. The club suffered from severe financial problems, in March 2018 President Grau announced the rescue.
In May 2018, the former National Councilor Yannick Buttet took over the office of club president von Grau, who headed the BBC for ten years. In June 2018 the club name was changed to BBC Monthey-Chablais.
