The Cumbres de Monterrey National Park ( Spanish Parque Nacional Cumbres de Monterrey ) is a protected area in Mexico . It was designated in 2000 and is 1,773.96 km² in size. The Mexican President Lázaro Cárdenas del Río declared the area a national park under pressure from a citizens' initiative that opposed agriculture and forestry in the region.
