The Jamanxim National Park is a protected area in Brazil . It was designated in 2006 and is 8,598 km² in size. The Brazilian highway BR-163, one of the main arteries of the Amazon, runs from north to south through the national park. In addition, hydropower plants along the Rio Tapajós have a negative impact on the protected area.
