The Kaboré-Tambi National Park (French: parc national Kaboré-Tambi ) is a nature reserve ( IUCN Category II) in southern Burkina Faso , between Ouagadougou and the Ghanaian border near the city of Pô . It follows the course of the Nazinon . Founded in 1976 as the Pô National Park (parc national de Pô) , the park was later renamed after a ranger who was killed there in 1991. A little further south is another nature reserve, the Ranch de Nazinga .
The park covers 1555 km² and is 200 to 400 m above sea level . The annual precipitation is 600 to 800 mm.
The vegetation consists of typical Sudanese savannahs, but also gallery forests and alluvial areas of the Nazinon. There are lions , elephants , buffalo , warthogs , baboons , numerous antelope species and many birds.
