Natreen
natreen is a brand of sweetener company Douwe Egberts (formerly of Sara Lee ). As an umbrella brand for low-calorie foods, natreen's product range includes around 60 items.
history
In 1963 natreen came onto the market under the name natrena "diätsüße" and was only available in pharmacies. A year later it was renamed “natreen dietsweet”. Natreen has been available in the food retail sector since 1969. Since 1976, the natreen brand has been expanded to include additional products containing sweeteners in cooperation with license partners . In the 1980s, the brand was advertised on TV with the slogan “Natreen makes sweet life easier”.
In 1996 Bayer AG sold the natreen brand to Sara Lee . In 1999 there was a change in the recipe for the natreen sweetener tablets “Feine Süße”. Since then, the new recipe has consisted of the artificial sweeteners cyclamate and saccharin as well as the natural sweetener thaumatin . When the Sara Lee Corporation was split up in 2012, natreen came to join the separated former daughter Douwe Egberts, which was renamed DE Master Blenders in 1753.
Products
The natreen range includes the classic sweetener natreen "fine sweetness" as small tablets, in liquid and sprinkle versions. To sweeten coffee beverages there is natreen “Café Gourmet”. In addition to the sweetener, jams, fruit in jars and compotes, fruit nectars and iced tea , ready-to-spray cream , yogurt slices , instant hot drinks and desserts are sold as licensed products.
