Mineral water labeled as low in sodium may contain a maximum of 20 mg / liter of sodium. "Reduced sodium" foods according to the regulation contain different amounts of sodium, e.g. B. Baby food should in principle be low in salt in order to avoid getting used to the salty taste. Tap water is usually suitable for preparation. Natural mineral water, on the other hand, can contain a relatively high amount of sodium. According to Section 13 of the Diet Ordinance, they are suitable for the preparation of baby food if (among other things) they contain a maximum of 20 mg / l sodium.
