Schwagloch natural monument (2.2.2.4)

The Schwagloch natural monument (2.2.2.4) with a size of 0.62 ha is located approximately 1 km east of Thülen in the urban area of Brilon . The area was designated as a natural monument (ND) in 2001 with the Hoppecketal landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The natural monument is surrounded to the west, north and south by the nature reserve open spaces east of Thülen . In the east, the landscape protection area borders the Brilon plateau . The Schwagloch natural monument (2.2.2.5) is only about 500 m to the west .

The ND Schwagloch (2.2.2.4) is one of the five natural monuments in the Hoppecketal landscape plan which were set as karst phenomena . There are three swallow holes and two sinkholes . In the karst phenomena shown as ND in the Hoppecketal landscape plan, it is forbidden to fill, fill, excavate, excavate or change the shape of the ground in any other way.

The Schwagloch (2.2.2.4) is located in the middle of agricultural areas. The immediate area is used as grassland. Parts of the original swallow hole have been buried in the past.
