Černý rybník

Černý rybník (German Black Pond ) is a 32.56 hectare nature reserve founded on November 8, 1993 in the Ore Mountains in the Czech Republic . It is located three kilometers northwest of Klíny , Okres Most and five kilometers east of Seiffen / Erzgeb. on the border with Germany. The water surface is at a height of 805  m .

It is a moorland area of ​​13 hectares with rare plants and birch trees . The pond itself was originally created in 1848 as a trout pond with an area of ​​1.09 hectares. The river Schweinitz ( Svídnice ), which rises on the northern edge of the moorland, waters the terrain from the north. The Schweinitz is also the southern drain, it forms the border with Germany below the moor. To the east, the bog is drained by the Bílý Potok (White Stream).

In the past, attempts were made to artificially drain the area. The canals that have since grown over are still detectable. At the end of the 20th century remains of stakes from around 3000 BC were found. Found. The pile dwellings were square, 9 meters long and 5 meters wide. In addition to these pile dwellings, small curved horns and small clay vessels (lamps) as well as ceramic vessels were found. Stone axes that seem to come from the Neolithic were also excavated .
