The Bildchen nature reserve is located in the southern area of the city of Aachen , west of Lütticher Straße between the street village of Bildchen and the Belgian border, and is part of the Aachen forest .
description
The reserve consists of a 200 meter long wet meadow , which is bordered in the northwest by forest and wooded old railway embankment. In the northeast, the meadow is criss- crossed by a damp channel with rush vegetation . A brook flows through the channel and rises from the embankment. In the north there is a forest area with birch quarry forest and a Großseggenried . The vegetation here is rich in mosses and horsetail . The Großseggen area is almost bushless and largely open.
Protection purpose
The aim of the NSG is to preserve a rare spring meadow community with bog bells and brook spring herb with the associated insect fauna. It is also important to maintain the wet meadow community by mowing at the right time and also to preserve the natural deciduous forest.
